A Bit About Food Insecurity

In the United States, 1 in 9 people struggles with hunger.  There are 37 million people face hunger in the U.S. today. This number includes more than 11 million children and nearly 5.4 million seniors facing food insecurity. There are no boundaries to hunger and food insecurity touches every community in the U.S., including you very own.

Every year I try to do my part. My family and I participate in community food drives, donate to local food banks and the homeless shelter. When we had our catering company I had our business routinely donate to our local food bank.  I feel so very strongly that no one should go to bed hungry  that I searched around and found Feeding America.

The Feeding America network is the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, working to connect people with food and end hunger. Donors, staff, and volunteers all play an important role in our efforts to end hunger in the United States.
