Chorizo Flavored Tofu

Chorizo Flavored Tofu So Good Your Guests Won’t Even Care It’s Not Meat

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb. package firm tofu
  • ¾ large white onion diced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 3 tbsp sweet paprika
  • 1 pinch kosher salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp ground coriander
  • ½ tsp dried oregano crushed
  • Pinch ground clove
  • 1/8 tsp fresh ground pepper

Instructions
 

  • Open tofu package, drain off water
  • Place tofu in tofu press, twist down top and drain for 30 minutes
  • Pour off water, twist top down more, drain for another 30 minutes
  • Remove drained tofu from press
  • Place tofu in mixing bowl
  • Crumble tofu into small pieces – I do this by hand
  • Gently mix in diced onion
  • Mix in paprika, cumin, salt, garlic powder, coriander, oregano, clove and pepper
  • Carefully hand mix, you want it to still be in chunky pieces, not blended smooth or pulverized
  • Use immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to a week
