Popcorn – Best Snack Ever
Popcorn – best snack ever. Since my family is completely popcorn obsessed I’m always curious about recipes for savory flavored popcorn. I was raised in a house that used butter & salt only, nothing else. So as I’m getting older I’m going bold with my popcorn flavors.
I found this recipe a while back and finally tried it. To be honest I was apprehensive about lemon on popcorn. But interestingly it really goes nicely, just make sure you don’t over do it – best to start with a small amount and add more if you like the flavor. This is also a kid approved recipe. The mini LOVED it and wants me to do this more often.
ROSEMARY & LEMON POPCORN
1/3 c popcorn (or however much your popper calls for)
Olive oil to cook popcorn with
1 tbsp. non-dairy margarine
1/3 tsp finely chopped fresh rosemary leaves
1/3 tsp grated lemon zest
- Heat the popcorn & oil in a stove top popper or heavy bottom pot with lid, over medium-high heat
- When popcorn starts to pop, cover the pot and continue to cook until all the popcorn pops – shake the pot occasionally, you want to keep it moving, do not let it sit or it will burn
- Pour popped corn into a large bowl, set aside
- In a medium sauté pan over medium-high heat, melt margarine
- Remove pan from heat
- Add rosemary and mix well
- Pour over popcorn
- Season with salt & black pepper to taste
- Toss and serve
