Since Thanksgiving just around the corner I thought I’d re-post some helpful information I have found online. For your cooking reference, here is my list of holiday cooking help, should you have any unforeseen cooking disasters on Thanksgiving Day.

It’s not that I’m trying to jinx you or anything, but should something come up – have no fear, help is just around the corner, a phone or click away! Just like me, these companies are there for you in your hour of need.

Ocean Spray

Do you have questions about cranberry sauce? Call the helpful folks at Ocean Spray Toll-free at 1-800-662-3263, Weekdays, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

USDA Meat & Poultry Hotline

If you have questions about meat, poultry or eggs, you can call the USDA Meat & Poultry Hotline at  1-888-MPHotline (1-888-674-6854). This hotline is open all year Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET (English or Spanish). They have recorded food safety messages available 24 hours a day. You can also email them at MPHotline.fsis@usda.gov. If you prefer doing an online live chat go to Ask Karen! (AskKaren.gov) for an automated response system that can provide information 24/7 about food safety, and will chat with you live during hotline hours.
