Vegan Cheese Sauce
I periodically get a craving for nacho cheese sauce – you know, the kind that comes from a dispenser at football games. I came up with my own homemade dairy-free version and my vegan cheese sauce recipe was born.
I have forced my family to try this recipe and they did both eat it and enjoy it. I happily took that as a win. You can also make this and use it with gluten-free noodles for an allergy safe mac-n-cheese.
Vegan Cheese Sauce
½ cup plain flax milk
½ cup vegan Parmesan shreds
1 cup vegan mozzarella shreds
½ cup nutritional yeast
1 tbsp. Earth Balance buttery spread
- Melt Earth Balance
- Pour in flax milk
- Mix in vegan Parmesan and vegan mozzarella
- Stir to combine
- After cheese starts to melt, add in nutritional yeast
- It is ready to eat at this point
- If you want to make mac-n-cheese, mix in 4 cups cooked gluten-free noodles
- Feel free to top with chopped Canadian bacon, cooked veggies or sautéed onion
